Notice Under the Americans with Disabilities Act

In accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the city will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs, or activities.

Employment

The city does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices, and complies with all regulations promulgated by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission under Title I of the ADA. Employment discrimination complaints can be made to the ADA Coordinator at (602) 489-7397 (TTY: 711).

Effective Communication

Dress For Success Phoenix (DFSP) is committed to providing access to our electronic and information technology, including our web pages, for individuals with disabilities in accordance with applicable law. DFSP is committed to ensuring that clients or potential clients with disabilities have access to and use of information and data that is comparable to the access and use by clients who are not individuals with disabilities, unless an undue burden would be imposed upon us.

If you have a disability and the format of any material on our web pages interferes with your ability to access the information, please contact the ADA Coordinator at (602) 489-7397 (TTY: 711). To enable us to respond in a manner most helpful to you, please indicate the nature of the accessibility problem, the web address of the requested material, your preferred format in which you want to receive the material (electronic format (ASCII, etc.), standard print, large print, etc.), and your contact information.

Modifications to Policies and Procedures

DFSP will make all reasonable modifications to policies and programs to ensure that people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to enjoy all programs, services, and activities. For example, individuals with service animals are welcomed in DFSP offices, even where pets are generally prohibited.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a city program, service, or activity, should contact the ADA Coordinator for DFSP using the information on this page as soon as possible but no later than 10 (10) business days before the scheduled event. To the extent possible, additional reasonable accommodations will be made available within the time constraints of the request.

The ADA does not require DFSP to take any action that would fundamentally alter the nature of its programs or services, or impose an undue financial or administrative burden.

DFSP will not place a surcharge on a particular individual with a disability or any group of individuals with disabilities to cover the cost of providing auxiliary aids/services or reasonable modifications of policy.

Complaints that a DFSP program, service, or activity is not accessible to persons with disabilities should be directed to the ADA Coordinator using the contact information in the sidebar.
